Background:
In a world of endless water…
In the post apocalyptic earth, lives a certain group of people who called themselves Diggers. They are brave explorers who dig out ruins for ancient artifacts and technologies. Over the years, rumours of an incredible treasure began to be whispered. The Mother Lode. It’s said that if this treasure is found, it would provide mankind with unlimited energy. In search of this Mother Lode, diggers travel on their machines, hoping that they’ll find what they’re looking for just over that horizon.
Hope…
Despair…
Charity…
Greed…
Duty…
Power...
Who can say what truly motivates those Diggers?
This is a story of them.
Rock Volnutt is a Digger, an explorer who dig out ancient ruins for artifacts. 15 years ago, Rock Volnutt was found as a baby by Barrell Casket, a rather famous Digger. He decided to raise him with Roll Caskett, his grand daughter who just lost both of her parents in the search of the Mother Lode.
One year ago, in their search of treasures, they crash-landed on an island named Kattelox Island. They found out that the island is actually one massive ruin. They then got involved in a battle with a pirate group called The Bonne Family over the treasures that were supposedly hidden beneath the island.
Rock defeated the pirates, and descended into the deepest part of the ruin. While he was inside, a mysterious satellite descended onto the island for purpose unknown. When he ascended out of the ruins, the satellite ascended back to the sky. Nobody knows what actually happened in the ruins, and Rock is strangely silent about the event.
One year later…
Personality:
Appearances
Rock is an intrepid explorer of ruins, and a rather laid back fellow. He doesn’t really have the intellectual capability to study ruins archaeologically, but he just loves to travel to new places, descends into new ruins and finding new artifacts.
He’s a talented on-foot ranged combatant, but dislike fighting, and often feels sorry for the enemies he defeated, hoping they’re not hurt too much.
Rock is very much a good guy, and will try to help people at much as he can, ranging from helping old ladies crossing the street, putting litters on trash cans, or fighting pirates that are attacking the island he’s on.
He’s also a rather submissive individual, and easily cowed and ordered around by strong-willed persons. That’s why he’s the one doing daily chores and cook in the Caskett family.
Rock’s hobby is cooking and collecting airship models.
He has a rather strange sense of humor. He one time introduced himself as “Hippopotamus” to a stranger in Kattelox Island, and the name stuck ever since eventhough they know his real name by now.
Capabilities and Resources:
Rock is a capable on-foot combatant and digger. And he’s a pretty good cook. He also regenerates injury faster than normal human for some reason.
Robot Name: Himself
Robot Description: Rock wears a rather light blue-colored powered armor. It doesn’t look like much, looks more like a normal body armor rather than a bulky powered armor, and because of that, it’s much less effective than the usual bulky powered armor. It doesn’t enhance his strength, but at least it protects him from small arms fire and indirect explosions, and it doesn’t impede his rather agile movement. The armor also allows him to do a standing 5 meter jump, skate a-la knightmare frames at least as fast as a car, and breathe and move under water.
The armor is protected by an energy shield system. Rock is covered by an energy shield that protects him from the brunt of most direct attacks. The shield’s protection isn’t perfect though, some of the attacks’ energy would still hurt him, and he’ll still be knocked around by explosions and giant robot punches. And the shield need time to recharge, if hit by a barrage of attacks, the system might break, and he’ll be left unprotected.
To explain further, Rock's energy shield works a bit differently than the usual energy shields used in giant mech, because of Rock's small size. The shield focuses on intercepting single attacks. Basically, it works the opposite of invisibility frame in old platformer games. When he got hit, the shield intercepts the first hit and the damage got massively reduced, but the shield would be completely drained. The shield would recharge itself again fast, but if he got hit again while the shield is still charging, he'll receive the full brunt of the damage. That's why rapid firing weapons are very dangerous for Rock, because it will only stop the first few bullets. If he continuously got hit when the shield is still charging, the shield might break, and he'll left without the shield's protection.
Rock’s armor right arm can unfolds into a buster gun, a gun that shoots balls of energies with unlimited ammunition. His left arm can unfolds into various kinds of weapons that were built by Roll. The weapons he currently has are:
- Aqua Buster. A weapon that shoots water. Pretty useless in battle, except if you're fighting a fire pokemon or something.
- Drill arm.
- Shield Arm. A circular energy shield that can stop some ranged attacks. Might shock people when touched. I'm using the first game version, because it's just cooler.
- Vacuum Arm. A weapon that... literally sucks. I guess he uses it to clean the ship or something.
- Crusher Grenade. A grenade that explodes and leave small electric field on the site of explosion.
- Homing missiles
- Hyper shell, an artillery type weapon that fires projectiles that explode and spread over large area.
Later Roll will find artifacts that let him build more powerful weapons, those are:
- Energy sword.
- Hunter seeker, independent probes that fly around that shoot enemies (basically bits)
- And finally, his most powerful weapon, the Shining Laser. A very powerful weapon that shoot a massive stream of laser with tremendous destructive capability.

The Press Conference (Intro log)
Somewhere in the world exists a mysterious island that’s covered in permanent blizzards. Nobody ever managed to enter the island and come back alive, except for two prominent diggers, Werner Von Blucher and Barrell Caskett that barely survived with their lifes 30 years ago. It’s believed that if Mother Lode really exist, it must be in this island.
Today, Werner Von Blucher unfolded his latest creation in a press conference, a massive airship called the Sulphur Bottom, and announced his intent to get back into the island. But the press conference is attacked by reaverbots, and the ship crash landed onto the island, with Von Blucher, Barrell Caskett, and countless party guests in it.
Mission 1: The Forbidden Island. (can be log?)
Roll and Rock decides to save their grandfather. They found the Bonne family was also in that ship, disguising themselves as journalists. They found countless shipwrecks, fought a giant reaverbot, and found two people sealed inside a crystal,. When they touched it, the person inside the crystal woke up, and the blizzard stopped.
The Mother Lode (log)
The person inside the crystal introduced themseelves as Sera and Geetz. They introduced themselves as surviving members of an ancient race, and they know where the Mother Lode was hidden. To open Mother Lode’s vault, they said we need four keys, hidden in four ruins. And every diggers in the world scrambled in a race to find those keys.
The First Key (log)
Rock led an expedition to a ruin in a forest that holds the first key. There, he met Tron Bonne and her servbots, and a three-way battle with her and the key’s guardian unfold.
Mission 2: The Second Key
The second key is actually hidden beneath Nino Island, a well-defended fortress island that hold the headquarters of the Digger’s Guild. Glyde decided to do an all-out assault on the island, and Rock must defend the island. Then the key’s guardian woke up. At the end of the mission, Rock found the secret of his adoption.
Mission 3: The Third Key
The third key is hidden beneath a volcanic island named Saul Kada Island. When Rock got there, he’s too late. The Bonne Family already took hold on the island, and they took the city’s invaluable giant golden statue as hostage for the key to the ruin underneath the city. Rock must fight the Bonne family without damaging the statue. Then the key’s guardian woke up, and Rock must cooperate with the Bonne Family to defeat the seemingly invincible guardian.
The Fourth Key (log)
The fourth key is hidden near a snowy town called Calinca City. Not much is happening here, except for finding out a legend about “The Sky Mother and the Earth Mother” There might either be a chase log/infiltration log on Bonne family's train, Gemeinschaft? But not much happening is fine too.
Attack on White Chalice(log).
Sera and Geetz revealed their true face, and steal the keys. And the Bonnes come back too!
(I think this actually works better as an actual mission. But there are no time, we can put this as a log)
Final Mission: Elysium.
Rock must fight Sera to stop her from using the key for its actual sinister purpose.

Important NPCs:
Roll Caskett : Rock’s best friend and adopted sister. She’s a genius inventor/engineer that maintains Flutter and invents and maintain Rock’s equipments. She also acts as Rock’s spotter, the mission control in his digging missions. Her parents disappeared in an attempt to find the Mother Lode. Seems to have some kind of rivalry with Tron.
Data : Rock’s sentient pet monkey robot that was adopted into the family at the same time as Rock. Seemingly knows more than he looks like.
Barrell Caskett: Roll’s Grandfather, and a famous digger on his youth.
Werner von Bluecher: A rich and famous industrialist, used to be a famous digger in his youth. Sponsors Rock’s attempts to find the keys.
Sera: A mysterious woman found inside a crystal in the forbidden island.
Geetz: A mysterious man who acts as Sera’s bodyguard.
Yuna: A mysterious woman that tries to stop everyone who wants to collect the keys, and seemingly able to control the key’s guardians. Strangely resembles Roll’s missing mother.
Gatz: A mysterious man who acts as Yuna’s bodyguard.
The Bonne Family: Consisting of Teisel, Tron, Bon, and their servbots. Rock’s rival at finding the keys. They got involved with each others once already in the Katellox Island event. You know who they are.
Glyde: The narcissistic leader of the Glyde Sky Pirate, who now act independently after the destruction of his old organization. Rock’s rival at finding the keys. You know who he is.
